The XJU-5.5J Izod Impact Testing Machine, also known as an Izod Pendulum Impact Tester, is engineered to evaluate the impact ductility of non-metallic specimens. Working Principle

A pendulum hammer with predefined energy strikes the specimen mounted on a horizontal beam and fractures the specimen via a single impact blow. The impact position is aligned centrally between the two supporting points.

The absorbed energy consumed by the specimen upon fracture is quantified by computing the discrepancy in pendulum energy before and after impact. Subsequently, the impact strength value is derived from the original cross-sectional area of the test specimen.
